RAMON LLOVET (Barcelona, 1917 – 1987).
Ramon Llovet Miserol (1917-1987) started on drawing and painting when he was very young. He attends classes at la Llotja and at l’Ateneu Obrer. He makes his first exhibitions at the Galeria Argos (Barcelona) and from 1958 becomes part of the painters of Sala Gaspar.
From the decade of 50’s –until 80’s- he participates in numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Catalonia and Spain receiving different awards and recognition from the critique. He also exhibit in France, USA, Germany…
Over the time, his work evolves from social-economic topics towards a higher lyricism. In the mid 60’s, he starts to become interested by the pacifism and the non-violence, fact that will influence deeply in his way of thinking and in his pictorial work. From this point, his work expresses –several times through de representation of pigeons and flowers as well- the love, peace, happiness… or a desire of something unattainable each time more spiritual and metaphysic.
He also makes sculptures, engravings and a huge production on lithographs.
