FREDERIC LLOVERAS HERRERA (1912, Barcelona - 1983, Tossa de Mar).

Frederic Lloveras was a Catalan painter, illustrator and watercolourist. He is considered one of the best representatives of the post-war Catalan watercolour, and is stylistically related with the postimpressionism.

Frederic studied at Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc and at Escola de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. In his beginnings he practiced the oil painting, and during the civil war the drawing, which gradually decided to fill with colours and creating his first watercolours. He participated in the Exposicions Nacionals de Belles Arts (1942, 1944 and 1948). In 1971 he made a solo exhibition at Sala Gaspar (Barcelona), where artists like Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies among others exhibited regularly. Some of his most important works are the illustration of a Gypsy Romance and the result of an artistic travel that he did around Spain.
