JOSEP ROYO (Barcelona, 1945)
Josep Royo is an established spanish contemporary artist that worked along with Joan Miro in an abstract style.
Starts his studies at the Drawing School de Sant Cugat del Vallés, then he studies painting at the Massana School de Barcelona.
In 1959 he starts to work at the Fabrica de Tapissos Aymat de Sant Cugat del Vallés, which lately will become l'Escola Catalana de Tapis. With his textile work he achieves international fame, working with very well-known artists of his period like Joan Miró, or Antoni Tàpies.
