ENRIQUE BRINKMANN was born in Málaga in 1938. When he was 17 years old he started to paint as an autodidactic painter. He travelled through Europe participating in several exhibitions. In 1966 he returned to Spain, at present he lives in Málaga. He developed intense creativity in the engraving field. He was awarded Premio Nacional de Grabado in 1994. Each one of the paintings of this highly personal artist is a half-opened door. What we see through its, is also half-seen. It is a question of knowing how to see and, moreover, of intuiting what could be behind the shadows. The paintings of Brinkmann reveal the ambiguity and the uncertainty of our time, but also something else, from the very bursting point of the moment of creation.
